awake, my bride!

​I was shown a woman, standing tall and athletic. She was dressed in a cream or beige shirt with long matching trousers. She wore work shoes or boots and looked almost like a security guard, ready to pounce or haul out anyone that is out-of-line in a crowd of people. She had blonde hair, tied up in a neat pony tail and a side-swiped fringe. And as tough and impressive a figure as she cut, you could still see the lovely features of her face - her eyes, nose and lips were very comely. It seemed, in a distant past, she was once as how Solomon might describe his beloved; one who is fairest amongst women, beautiful and pleasant. It seemed she was once kind but now hardened.

But what struck me most unusual, about the vision of this women, was that she had a dark moustache! How strange I thought to myself, who could this be? A voice said, 'The bride of Christ today' and instantly I understood.

This is the state of the church today, a woman not in her bridal whites of lace or delicate fabric but of a starched uniform in an ugly shade of what might look white from a distance. She wears the pants in the marriage and wants to be in control instead of allowing Christ the groom, to lead. I realise the dark moustache is actually a fake moustache, a symbol of authority that is put on to appear fierce and in-charge instead of having the true authority from Christ that is powerful yet merciful and gracious. Today, instead of hearing and obeying Christ, keeping His ways, manifesting His powers and entering into His holiness we in church follow stiff boundaries, keeping to committees and programmes without any demonstration of the Holy Spirit. Today, God is saying that women are looking and becoming more like men, not recognising their husbands as the head. All these are not the bride God intends for His groom.

Awake, my bride today! Come away from all your plans, ambitions and manipulations, shed away your stiffness, listen, obey and let me lead!
